Fall Décor on a Budget

leaf-wine_galThe chilly mornings, mild afternoons, and pumpkin-flavored everything can only mean one thing…fall is here!  Here are some easy ways to bring fall décor into your home without breaking the bank.

Centerpieces

Create a beautiful centerpiece with foliage from your backyard and everyday items found in your home.

Arrange large dried leaves (such as from a magnolia tree) in a galvanized or opaque tub, hiding the stems.

Place a few bunches of red and dark orange carnations in a wooden salad bowl – cut the stems to depth of the bowl, and place some water in the bottom to keep the blooms fresh.

Wreaths

Take a simple straw wreath and spray paint it bronze. Collect a variety of pine cones from the backyard and attach them to the wreath with a hot glue gun.  Add a touch of shimmer with a bronze or golden hanging ribbon!

This fun fall wreath is made with a pool noodle and popcorn! Bend the pool noodle into a circle and duct tape the ends together. Cover the wreath with burlap, paint with Mod Podge, and sprinkle popcorn kernels across the entire surface.  Give the wreath one final coat of adhesive – once it dries, add a stylish ribbon in your favorite fall color!

Mantel Arrangements

Collect the most vibrant red, yellow, and orange fall leaves from your yard or a local park. Press each leaf between two sheets of glass and secure the edges with colored linen book cloth tape.

Nothing says “fall” like an arrangement of gourds. Cut tops into the gourds and insert dried flowers to create an elegant assortment of autumn-themed vases.
