This weekend, get outdoors in the beautiful spring weather for some old-fashioned strawberry picking fun! Whether you plan to make strawberry jam, strawberry cobbler, or eat ’em straight out of the bucket, here are some local farms offering fresh, delicious berries for the whole family to enjoy.

Washington Farms – With two locations in Watkinsville and Loganville, Washington Farms offers acres upon acres of beautiful strawberries ripe for the picking. The cost is $12/gallon for you-pick buckets, or pre-picked strawberries are $15/gallon. The farm is also offering pre-picked blueberries and blackberries for sale. Don’t forget to cool off with fresh homemade strawberry ice cream! The strawberries this year are extra-popular and may go fast – call in advance to make sure berries are still available for the day. Jaemor Farms – Located in the foothills of the beautiful North Georgia Mountains, Jaemor Farms offers 13 acres of strawberry fields, so you can pick to your heart’s content. The farm also runs a fresh produce market offering homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, pie, ice cream, and more! Mitcham Farm – This fantastic farm in Oxford has been run by the Mitcham family for five generations. Set in the countryside, Mitchum Farm offers pick-your-own strawberries for $12/gallon, and pre-picked berries for $14/gallon. Come back on April 28th for the farm’s annual Strawberry Festival, featuring a pedal carts, arts and crafts, a cow train, pony and wagon rides, live music, helicopter rides, and more! Warbington Farms – Located in Cumming, Warbington Farms is ready to greet you for a weekend full of strawberry picking and more! This Saturday, the farm is hosting its “Farmer for the Day” program. The whole family will enjoy learning about honey bees, soil conservation, and gardening. Kids can participate in crafts and take home a seed to watch it grow! The Fun Park will also be open, featuring a hay ride, cow feeding, petting zoo, and more. Come back on Sunday for the popular Strawberry Shortcake Tea Party. Enjoy light refreshments, songs, dancing, and crafts, along with a storytime with Strawberry Shortcake herself! The Fun Park will also be available for play.
