Skip the shoes that come with the costume and wear comfortable shoes you can easily walk in. Make sure laces are double-tied, so you don’t accidentally trip and fall in the dark. Make sure the kids walk, and don’t run, from house to house. Keep kids close at hand to make sure they don’t dart across the street without looking both ways. Children should always walk on sidewalks or on far edge of the roadway facing traffic.   • Halloween is just around the corner!  If you’re looking for extra Halloween fun this weekend, check out one of these terrific events happening at your favorite Atlanta attractions! Brick-or-Treat at LEGOLAND Visit LEGOLAND Discovery Center for the annual Brick-or-Treat! In addition to the everyday LEGO fun, you’ll get to participate in scavenger hunts in Miniland, build a LEGO pumpkin, and visit the LEGO pumpkin patch. Compete in the costume contest for a chance to win an annual attraction pass! Brick-or-Treat will run through this weekend, from 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. If your child has a dark-colored costume, adhere some reflective safety-tape to the outfit, to ensure they are visible at night time. Each person in the trick-or-treating party should have his or her own flashlight to ensure they can see and be seen in the evening. Always look both ways before crossing the street, and use crosswalks whenever possible.  Children should always walk on sidewalks or on far edge of the roadway facing traffic. Parents or responsible adults should always accompany the smallest trick-or-treaters.   • Halloween is almost here, and all of North Georgia is celebrating!  Here are some fun, family-friendly Halloween events occurring this month that you won’t want to miss. LEGOLAND is celebrating Halloween with its Brick-or-Treat event each weekend in October.  Don your favorite costume and get ready for a fun afternoon of games, trick-or-treating, and, of course, tons of Lego activities!  Build a LEGO pumpkin to add to the LEGO pumpkin patch.  Take a guess at the number of pumpkins in MINILAND for your chance to win an annual pass!  LEGOLAND will host a costume contest on October 13 and November 1 at noon and 3 pm, with prizes being awarded for the best costumes!  For more information, visit LEGOLAND Discovery Center’s website.
