Stay Cool in Hot-Lanta This Weekend

The summer season is in full swing, and the city is certainly living up to its nickname – here are some fun ways to cool off in Hot-Lanta this weekend!

Geyser Towers® at Stone Mountain combines a ropes course with a water park to maximize summer fun! Explore multiple levels of this aerial obstacle course, complete with rope tunnels and bridges. When you’re ready to cool off, head toward the geyser, and get drenched with refreshing water! The smallest kids can splash and play in the creek at ground level. For more information, visit the Stone Mountain Park website.

Play in the water in the heart of downtown for free at the Fountain of Rings at Centennial Olympic Park! The fountains, which form the Olympic Rings to celebrate Atlanta’s 1996 Games, spray throughout the day and are synchronized to a variety of favorite songs. Make a day of it by checking out nearby downtown attractions, such as the World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, and CNN Center.  Visit Centennial Olympic Park’s website for more information.

No summer would be complete without a visit to Six Flags White Water, Atlanta’s longest-running water park! This 69-acre park offers a variety of thrill rides, family rides, and water play areas that will keep you cool and refreshed all day. Don’t miss the Dive Bomber, which takes you on a 10-story journey down a nearly 90-degree slide! Each Thursday and Friday this summer, you can enjoy a kid-friendly Dive-In Movie at the Wave Pool. For more information on rides and admission, visit White Water’s website.

If you’re up for a little trip, head to the mountains for some old-fashioned fun at Helen Tubing and Waterpark! Shoot the ‘Hooch for a couple of hours, and check out the Water Park, which features multiple slides and a lazy river. When you’re done playing in the water, grab lunch or dinner in one of Helen’s Bavarian-themed restaurants. Click here for more information.
