Three Gwinnett County schools have been nominated as finalists for a STEM Education Award from the Technology Association of Georgia! Over 180 schools were nominated statewide for the prestigious award that recognizes outstanding STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education in Georgia. The Gwinnett County finalists are:
- Peachtree Ridge High School in Duluth
- White Oak Elementary School in Sugar Hill
- Mason Elementary School in Duluth
The STEM Education Awards recognize companies, programs, and schools throughout Georgia that promote and support science, technology, engineering, and math initiatives in the classroom. The fifth annual awards ceremony will take place on November 4 at the Loudermilk Center in Atlanta.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts that STEM careers will increase by over 9 million between 2012 and 2022, making careers in engineering, science, and mathematics more lucrative than ever before.
