‘Tis the season for holiday festivities in north Georgia! This weekend, welcome the Christmas season by attending one of these holiday festivals and tree lightings in north metro Atlanta!
The City of Dacula, in partnership with Hebron Baptist Church and the Dacula Business Association, is hosting its 4th annual Christmas in Dacula festival this Saturday! Enjoy a day full of family-friendly events, including an 5K Race and Fun Run, Pancake Breakfast, Santa’s Village with activities for kids and teens, a car and bike show, and live music. Local vendors will have unique goods for sale, and food trucks will be available on-site with tasty treats! Santa Claus and other holiday characters will make an appearance as well. Stick around until evening for the lighting of the Christmas tree! Admission is free – donations will be accepted for Nothing But The Truth and C.A.R.E. ministries, as well as the Salvation Army. The City of Suwanee is hosting its annual Jolly Holly Day festival this Friday evening. The festivities begin at 6:30 pm at Town Center Park. Enjoy holiday performances by local elementary schools, free crafts, and delicious s’mores and hot chocolate. Kids will get to meet Santa and take photos, and the Christmas tree will be lit at 8:15. Head to Auburn for Sounding Off the Christmas Season, taking place on Saturday in Downtown Auburn! The events starts at 5:30 and will feature delicious holiday treats, festive music, and a live nativity. Santa will make an appearance long with his live reindeer! The tree will be lit after dusk. Don’t miss the Downtown Jefferson Holiday Festival, taking place in quaint Jefferson in Jackson County on Saturday. This all-day event will offer tons of activities for the whole family. The Crawford W. Long Museum will hold children’s storytime at 10 and 11 am, and there will be free hot chocolate at the historic Pendergrass General Store. A variety of local vendors will be on the downtown square, along with live music and games, train rides, and hay rides for the children. The annual Christmas Parade will take place at 3 pm – this year’s theme is “Christmas Through the Ages.” Meet Santa and take a photo – high-quality digital photos will be available for purchase!
