It is officially the Fall season! The crisp mornings and warm afternoons are the perfect time to enjoy one of many Fall festivals and events taking place in and around Gwinnett County this year.
It’s almost Halloween, which means it’s time to pick your pumpkin! Select from hundreds of pumpkins at Washington Farms in nearby Watkinsville. After you grab the perfect pumpkin, stick around for hay rides and hay bale jumping, and pay a visit to the sweet baby goats. If you’re the adventurous type, get “lost” in the incredibly fun corn maze! Enjoy yummy fall treats such as kettle corn, barbeque, and other goodies sold on site.
The Buford Corn Maze offers a full day of fun for the entire family. Wind your way through the expansive corn maze, featuring five acres of laughs and thrills! The little ones will love the corn box, where they can play in fresh, clean shelled corn to their heart’s content. Other activities include hay rides, a bounce house, and livestock viewing area. Don’t forget to get your Fall family photo taken in the pumpkin patch!
The Cumming Country Fair and Festival takes place during October 2-12 at the Cumming Fairgrounds in nearby Forsyth County. There are tons of activities to enjoy, including a petting zoo, carnival rides, the Indian Village, Heritage Village, and daily concerts and entertainment! For more information, including the concert line-up and special discounts on select days, visit the fair’s website.
If you’re looking for a really spooky time, check out two popular “haunts” in Gwinnett County! Take an authentic ghost tour in Downtown Lawrenceville. Visit the old haunted jail that has been around since the 1800’s, and hear hair-raising tales that will send chills down your spine. If you are really brave, pay a visit to Netherworld in Norcross, consistently ranked as one of the best haunted houses in the country! Creep along through the dark “houses” and encounter terrifying scenes with live actors and very realistic special effects! Netherworld is open nightly through early November.
