Fun Fall This Weekend in Atlanta

Fall is in full swing in Georgia! This weekend, explore one of many fall-themed festivals and events happening just a short drive from home!

Head to the mountains for the popular Georgia Mountain Fall Festival in Hiawassee! Explore a variety of booths featuring unique arts and crafts, educational demonstrations, live entertainment, and much more. Don’t miss the new attraction this year, Wolves of the World – it’s the only traveling wolf pack in the world! Take a trip back in time at the Pioneer Village, which features a real mercantile, one-room schoolhouse, and log home. You can also see how families used to mill corn, quilt, blacksmith, and even make moonshine! Today, enjoy live performances by Pam Tillis and Jim Wood & The Georgia Mountain Fair Band. Admission is $12 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free. For more information, visit the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival website.

Stone Mountain invites you to “play by day and glow by night” at the Pumpkin Festival! During the day, enjoy a variety of attractions at the park, and participate in special meet and greets with Mother Goose characters and Spookly the Square Pumpkin. Once the sun goes down, the park will illuminate with the light of hundreds of whimsical jack-o-lanterns and other fun and spooky exhibits. Enjoy special Halloween-themed games, live shows, an incredible parade, and much more! For more information on the Pumpkin Festival, including admission cost and entertainment schedule, visit the Stone Mountain Park website.

There’s no better way to experience the glory of fall than at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens! The whole family will love Scarecrows in the Garden, featuring a variety of wacky scarecrows that have been created by schools, businesses, and organizations across the city. There are tons of activities for kids, including pumpkin bowling, a pumpkin toss, and arts and crafts. Don’t miss the incredible Imaginary Worlds exhibit, featuring larger-than-life plant sculputres including a dragon, mermaid, peacock, and more! For more information, including hours and admission prices, visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens website.
