Happening This Weekend in Gwinnett

With Cinco de Mayo just around the corner, there are plenty of exciting events planned across our area, especially in Gwinnett County. Not sure yet how your weekend will be spent? We found a few fun ways to spend your time, even if tacos and margaritas aren’t on the menu:

Snellville Days Festival

Visit pretty T.W. Briscoe Park in Snellville on Saturday, May 4th for the annual Snellville Days Festival. Established in 1974, the festival is an exhibition of local arts and crafts, with over 200 vendors and a huge children’s area. Plus, parking and admission are FREE. Go to http://snellvilledays.com for all the details.

Duluth Margarita & Taco Festival

The first annual Duluth Margarita & Taco Festival is where you’ll find great Cinco de Mayo fare this Sunday, May 5th starting at 6pm. It happens in downtown Duluth, where you’ll find the best tacos and margaritas from local restaurants competing against restaurants and food trucks from across the southeast. The event is free to attend, but drink wristbands are $6, or you can go all-in with an “Unlimited Margarita” wristband for $35! The festival is prepared for a crowd with over 40 taco vendors and 12 bars to minimize wait times. For more information, visit http://duluthga.net.

Tiny Titans

Visit the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center in Buford for Tiny Titans, featuring an “astounding array of authentic dinosaur eggs and nests collected from all over the globe.” The exhibition theorizes how the dino-parents cared for their eggs, and it opens today, Friday, May 3rd and runs through June 2nd. Admission is just $10 for Gwinnett residents, $13 for non-residents. Go to http://www.gwinnettEHC.com for more information.

Norcross First Friday Concert: Emerald Empire Band

The show starts at 7pm and seating is limited, so reserve ahead of time at 678-421-2049. You are encouraged to bring your own food and favorite beverages or visit one of the great downtown Norcross restaurants before or after the concert. Admission is free! Suwanee Food Truck Friday

Listen to authentic swing tunes, Latin, jazz, rock, and funk! The event starts at 5:30pm tonight and food trucks will stay open until 9:30pm – or until they run out of food! Need more details?
