Labor Day is almost here! Tropical Storm Harvey and disturbances in the Atlantic will make for a soggy long weekend at the coast. This year, skip the beach and check out these fun, family-friendly events happening close to home in Georgia!
Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival at Callaway Gardens
Bring the family to one of middle Georgia’s most anticipated events of the year – the Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival! Numerous majestic balloons will grace the open meadows of Callaway Gardens. The event kicks off on Friday evening with an awe-inspiring Balloon Glow. On Saturday, families can enjoy tons of activities, such as live music, a kids play area, a birds of prey show, balloon and caricature artists, a classic car show, disc dog demonstrators, and plenty of fun on the lakeside beach! Weather permitting, families can experience the thrill of a ride in the sky with a tethered balloon ride! Other amenities at the gardens, such as the trails and butterfly center, are included in the admission cost. For more information, including information on accommodations for the weekend, visit the event website.
