This Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifices that our brave veterans have made in service to our country. This weekend, be sure to attend one of these family-friendly events happening in Gwinnett County to remember and celebrate our nation’s heroes.
Memorial Day in Dacula will take place on Monday, May 30. The event will begin with a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at 7:45 am, followed by a parade (10 am), featuring Grand Marshal George E. O’Kelley, Jr., a WWII US Navy Veteran. Don’t miss the pageant at Mountain View High School in nearby Lawrenceville at 4 pm, where Miss Memorial Day will be crowned!
Red, White, Bluegass, and Bach is Suwanee’s annual Memorial Weekend concert, featuring bluegrass music, classical tunes, and a musical salute to our troops. This event will take place on Friday, May 27 at 7 pm at Town Center Park.
Gwinnett County will honor Gwinnett military heroes at the Fallen Heroes Memorial at the county government complex (75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville) on Monday, May 30 at 1 pm. Join the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, along with honor guard units from several local emergency services departments, for this solemn ceremony.
