Last week, the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage dipped to 3.9%. This is the first time the mortgage rate has dipped below four percent in 2017, and represents the lowest rate this year! Other mortgage rates have taken similar plunges – the average rate on a 15-year fixed rate mortgage fell to 3.23%, and the average rate on a 5-1 ARM dropped to 3.10%.
