North Metro Atlanta Events This Weekend
There’s always something fun happening in Metro Atlanta. Here’s the round-up of events happening this weekend across the northeast metro area, with fun for all ages and interests:
All weekend, the Four Paw Agility Club of North Georgia is putting dogs to the test with fun performance events in agility, obedience, rally, and tracking. If you have any interest in dog training or just want to see talented dogs having a blast, come on out to the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds (2405 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30045) for this four-legged extravaganza starting Friday, June 21st and running through Sunday, June 23rd.
The Gwinnett Public Library is telling stories again! Starting Friday, June 21st at 10:30am, they’ll have stories, songs, games, and tons of fun for your little ones at two separate park locations. Keep them reading and learning this summer with a visit this Friday to Alexander Park (800 Old Snellville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30044) or Jones Bridge Park (4901 East Jones Bridge Road, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092). Story time is free, of course!
Let the treasure hunt begin this Friday, June 21st in Braselton, with 150 vendors, six food trucks, and live music lining on the streets of this historic small town. The Art-Tiques Vintage Market features antiques, farmhouse finds, local artwork, primitives, and salvage. It’s a picker’s dream! Recently voted one of the top 5 festivals in the state of Georgia, the event offers free parking, admission, and shuttle service. It runs until Sunday, June 23rd.
Come out to the Duluth Town Green this Friday, June 21st for live music on the Festival Center Stage and a great selection of Food Truck cuisine. It starts at 6pm, with free concert admission and tons of delicious food choices. This fun event runs every Friday from May until August.
Gardens are in full bloom this summer, and you can tour Gwinnett’s finest this Saturday, June 22nd at 10am. The bus tour will take you through beautiful gardens across the county and introduce you to Master Gardeners and community leaders with the know-how to make things grow. All ages are invited to attend, with an admission fee of just $10 per person. Pre-register at the link above with code LFS38400.
This Saturday, June 22nd, bring a blanket or drive your golf cart to the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, where the band, “Good Measure,” will put on a concert on the driving range lawn. Sarazen’s Bar and Grille will be there with a food truck, cash bar, and concessions for purchase. (No outside food or drink allowed.) Concessions will be served starting at 6:30pm and the concert starts at 8pm.
This Saturday, June 22nd, finish a day of shopping at the Mall of Georgia with a summer concert and a movie under the stars. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax while you watch “Despicable Me 3” or get up and dance while “The Woodys” play live. It all happens in The Village at the Mall of Georgia, where there will also be a bounce house and summer concessions. Full-service dining options on-site include Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, Marlow’s Tavern, The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s, and Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill. The movie will start at 8pm.
