This Weekend in Atlanta

L5P Halloween Parade

Little Five Points is known as one of the most eccentric communities in Atlanta, and its annual Halloween Parade lives up to the area’s reputation! Head to Atlanta for the wildest parade in the Southeast, featuring a huge collection of bizzare, and sometimes frightening, costumes!  The festivities begins at noon with an artist’s market and a variety of food vendors. The parade will take place from 4 to 6 pm, beginning at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Euclid Avenue. Click here for more information.

Scarecrows in the Garden

Head to Atlanta this weekend to view Scarecrows in the Garden, a collection of over 100 creative and spooky scarecrows on exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens! Each scarecrow has  been individually crafted by businesses, organizations, and individuals in the Atlanta area. 44th Annual Highland Games

Get a taste of Scotland at the annual Highland Games at Stone Mountain Park! Cheer for your favorite clan in the “Highland Heavies,” a two-day competition that includes a hammer throw, weight throw, weight toss, and other acts of feat. Teams from all over the US and Canada will be competing in Highland dacing, pipe bands, drumming, and harping. There are also Scottish-themed activites for the little ones, including archery, sock puppets, sand art, and more! Visit the event website for ticket prices and more information.

Fair on the Square

Visit Downtown Lawrenceville this weekend for Fair on the Square, historic Lawrenceville’s annual Fall festival. There will be activities for the whole family, including arts and crafts, live music, terrific performances, a cornhole tournament, dance contest, inflatables, and more!
