Asheville, North Carolina is just a three-hour drive from metro Atlanta. Today is the start of the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival, a four-day event that includes innovative performances across multiple venues in the city. Visit Charleston, South Carolina, located just a few hours from metro Atlanta. Charleston is known for its rich history and beautiful architecture, and is home to some of the finest dining and shopping in the Southeast. Kids will love the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, which features a variety of interactive exhibits, the Challenger Learning Center, and an observatory to view the night sky. Columbus is also home to the acclaimed National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus and National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center, which allows visitors to explore America’s military history dating back to the Revolutionary War.
