suwanee_fountains_RHGIt’s the hottest time of year in Georgia, and this summer seems warmer than ever! If you’re looking for some fun ways to cool off, Gwinnett County features terrific pools and waterparks where the whole family can beat the heat.

Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation has a number of terrific public pools and waterparks.  Bogan Park Aquatic Center in Buford has an indoor competition pool and indoor waterpark with zero-depth entry, giant waterslide, and whimsical water play structures. West Gwinnett Aquatic Center in Norcross features indoor competition and instructional pools, and an outdoor water park with leisure pool, offering zero-depth entry, two huge waterslides, a river channel, bubble bench, spray bar, play structures, and more! Admission ranges from $3.25 to $5.50 for Gwinnett residents and $6.25 to $10.50 for non-Gwinnett residents. Click here for more information.

Gwinnett County also offers several fountains and splash pads that are free to the public! Big Splash at Town Center Park in Suwanee features 43 jets that shoot up to 1,400 gallons of recycled water per minute. At the Mall of Georgia, check out the fountains at the Village Pavilion, located outside the main entrance to the mall – it’s a great way for the kids to cool off after a long day of shopping! Lillian Web Park in Norcross has a terrific splash pad with incredible waterfall and sand volleyball court, truly making it feel like the beach.

Lanier World at Lake Lanier Islands is a premier beach and waterpark in the Southeast US. The whole crew will love the Family Fun Park with wave pool and “raging river.” The Big Beach has a huge collection of water rides for all ages, and a white-sand beach to relax and enjoy the sun. When the sun goes down, head over to Sunset Cove for live music, entertainment, and great dining! Admission ranges from $21.99 to $41.99 per person. Click here for more information.
