This Weekend in Gwinnett

Woofstock in Suwanee

This weekend promises to be warm and sunny – take advantage of this beautiful weather by taking your family to one of these fun events in Gwinnett County!

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in lovely Downtown Norcross! On Saturday, the city will host a family-friendly festival that will offer delicious Mexican fare, a variety of vendors selling authentic goods, and bouncy houses and costumed characters for the kids. Arrive at 1 pm for a special guided tour to the nearby Guadalajara Market. The festival will begin at 2 pm. For more information, visit the event website.

Kids of all ages will love Auburn Ever After, happening today at 4 pm in quaint Downtown Auburn. A variety of characters will be on-hand for meet-and-greet, including Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Tiana, Spiderman, Shrek, Hercules, and more! Have your kids dress in their favorite costumes to participate in the fun. There will be free carriage rides, and a showing of The Princess and the Frog at dusk. For more information, visit the City of Auburn’s website.

On Saturday and Sunday, Suwanee will host one of the most popular events of the year, Woofstock. Bring your precious pups, and other pets, to Suwanee Town Center for one of the largest pet adoption events in the Southeast! The festival offers events for the whole family, including arts and crafts, pet-related vendors, food trucks, pet contests and demonstrations, live music, and more. Over 50 non-profits will be on-hand, including rescue groups. Admission is free! All pets must be on leashes. For more information, visit the event website.

Don’t miss the 4th annual Gwinnett Beer Fest at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville! Sample over 150 unique craft beers, included limited release bars. Participate in fun games, and enjoy delicious food and live music all afternoon. Part of the proceeds will benefit Kingdom Kids, a non-profit group that grants wishes to Gwinnett and Forsyth County kids with life-threatening illnesses. This event is for age 21 and over only. Regular admission is already sold out, but “day of” tickets are still available! For more information, including ticket prices and registration, visit the festival website.
