This weekend will be an exciting one for Gwinnett County high school football! Three Gwinnett high school teams are competing at the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Championships in Atlanta – Greater Atlanta Christian vs. Cedar Grove (Class AAA), Buford vs. Rome (Class AAAAA), and Grayson vs. Roswell (Class AAAAAA).
If all Gwinnett teams win their respective games, it will be the first time since 1970 that a county in Georgia has had three or more champions in one season! Gwinnett almost accomplished this incredible feat in 2008, before Peachtree Ridge lost their AAAAA title game. No matter what the outcome this weekend, Gwinnett residents can be proud of their fantastic hometown football teams!
